2017

2017 has been an adventure! My business grew considerably from last year, and I'm so grateful. I learned a lot about managing and growing a small business, and I saw the fruits of my labors in awesome ways. I shot my first out-of-state wedding, started booking clients through social media platforms, and kind of found my groove in how I like to run things as a photographer. (I also got to do a lot of secret projects or shoots, some of which you all haven't even seen glimpses of yet!)

At the beginning of the year, I made a personal goal of doing a photo project every month. Some were easy and some were much more difficult than I anticipated, but I noticed what a difference it makes to practice my craft in a no-stress environment where I can try new things and just see how they work. It's been great for my creativity and I had so much fun working with my friends to do cool things!

This year, I learned a lot about what I want out of photography. I really saw who I am as a photographer, and I'm excited to see how that takes me into the next year. I have lots of goals and I'm excited to run hard after them, and just see where life takes me!

So, here's to 2017. Not the greatest year ever, but when you look closely enough, there are a lot of beautiful things that have come out of it.
